The Behavior Agency
About Us
Our mission is to provide high-quality ABA therapy, using Pivotal Response Teaching (PRT). At The Behavior Agency, each client receives an individualized treatment plan, resulting in observable progress, and thus creating a better quality of life for each client and their families. Each family also works with a treatment team of creative and motivated staff! Our clients are individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. The Behavior Agency proudly serves Orange, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties.
Services
Comprehensive Treatment
Comprehensive treatment focuses on multiple areas of functioning, including communication, cognition, socialization, play, and self-help skills. Additionally, PRT strategies are used to teach replacement behaviors to reduce challenging behaviors. A comprehensive program can range from 20-40 hours/week of treatment. A variety of curricula are used to develop an age-appropriate, individualized treatment plan for the client. A Behavior Technician (BT) will implement the treatment plan with your child, with clinical oversight from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Focused Treatment
A focused treatment plan typically consists of 10-15 hours/week. This model targets 1-2 domains and focuses on a limited number of goals specific to the client's needs. Similar to our comprehensive model, a variety of curricula are used to create an individualized treatment plan, tailored to meet each client's unique needs. A BT will implement the treatment plan with your child, with clinical oversight from a BCBA.

Parent Training and Consultation
Our team also provides parent training and consultation by a Qualified Autism Service Paraprofessional, and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This may occur in a one-to-one setting, a group format, or both. Within this model, caregivers will learn how to apply the principles of ABA, PRT, and other NDBI interventions within their daily routines to teach the client new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. In other words, you will learn to do what your treatment team is doing so that your child is learning at all times.

How Do I Get Started?
Contact our office to discuss which service is right for you and your family, and complete an intake form. A BCBA will then complete a functional behavior assessment (FBA), and in collaboration with you and your family, an individualized treatment plan will be created for the client. We will assign 1-2 BTs to your treatment team, who will implement the behavior intervention plan and strategies in the FBA outlined by the BCBA.
